The Institute for Molecular Virology/Ahlquist Lab is looking for an undergraduate student who would be available to work 10-15 hours/week with flexible schedule during the academic year and 10 or more hours/week in the summer. Duties: manage essential operations of molecular biology laboratory, including preparing growth media, managing disposable stocks, lab cleaning, autoclaving, etc.
Requires responsible, organized, reliable, independent worker. Seeking highly motivated, high achieving (high GPA) student in the biological sciences. Some experience in microbiology and/or molecular biology is required; understanding of sterile techniques and media/buffer preparation preferred. Superior performance in this job can lead to opportunity to assist in research under the guidance of grad students or senior researchers.
